What we do

Every year when school starts, students are given the opportunity to choose a sport they want to play. However, for children from disadvantaged communities, golf is not a sport they have the opportunity to choose.
To address this, Hillwood Golf Academy has chosen to target children from these areas so that they too are given the opportunity to choose golf as their sport.
The academy focuses on three areas: golf, education and leadership. Students with weak academic skills are given access to a tutor who helps them overcome difficulties in school. Later in their education, they are offered the opportunity to become mentors so that they in turn can mentor their peers.
This approach considers the student's whole personal development and creates leaders who strive to develop others. Results are monitored quarterly and clearly show that students do improve their academic performance, become more respectful and disciplined.
From 2017 until now, about 300 students have completed their education at Hillwood Golf Academy with good results.
