A World-Class Heart: Jonathan Butler Visits Hillwood Golf Academy
On 24 April 2025, Hillwood Golf Academy welcomed a very special guest — internationally acclaimed musician Jonathan Butler. Known for his soulful music and deep roots in South Africa, Jonathan took time out of his busy schedule to visit the academy during one of our youth training sessions.
His visit was more than just inspirational — it was a gesture of generosity. Jonathan donated a selection of golf equipment to the academy, directly supporting our mission to make the game accessible to all.
“It’s beautiful to see young people given the chance to learn this game,” Jonathan said during his visit. “Golf has so much to teach — about life, discipline, and self-respect.”
Jonathan shared valuable swing tips with the students, but it was his warmth and encouragement that truly stood out. He connected with them on a personal level — sharing stories, offering advice, and inspiring them to keep pushing forward, both in golf and in life.
More Than a Game
Hillwood Golf Academy is a registered non-profit committed to empowering young people through the game of golf. We provide structured coaching, mentorship, and life skills development to help youth unlock their full potential — on and off the course.
Jonathan’s visit was a powerful reminder of what happens when community, opportunity, and heart come together.
